Most Thursday afternoons: Open Studio
Open studio is designed to be a fun and relaxing afternoon offering a mixed bag
of creative activities using a mélange of media. Participants will discover what
they will be working on only when they arrive at the studio, so each session will
be an adventure and a surprise. They can, however, expect a stimulating
experience full of fun and camaraderie in a warm and supportive atmosphere.
Sessions are held most Thursday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The
cost per session is $32 CDN (+ tax) or $28 CDN (+ tax) if you come with a friend.
Materials are included in the cost. Enrolment is limited to 8 participants.
October 4th: Collage Confidential
There are so many aspects to creating a collage piece! In this particular
workshop, you will focus on creating your own collage elements and using art
supplies in collage. Learn how to transform paper, work with photocopies, and
create textured additions to your collage. Incorporate acrylics, watercolours,
coloured pencils, pastels, inks, and gel pens into your creations. Throughout, we
will be working intuitively and spontaneously, and layering with laughter!
This session takes place on a Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is
$75 CDN (+ tax). Materials are included in the cost. Participants must bring a
bagged lunch. Enrolment is limited to 8 participants.
October 11th to October 25th: Art as a Form of Spiritual Expression
Who am I? What do I value? Who do I wish to become? Often we are faced with
tough life questions - art and spiritual dialogue is a fascinating and beautiful way
into the answers. Kate Strickland teams up with Spiritual Arts Practitioner and
musical artist, Vivianne LaRiviere of The Songroom, to bring you an in-depth
series of workshops designed to help with self-discovery.
The workshops take place at art vein studio and focus on spiritual dialogue,
meditation, and a variety of expressive art approaches including: exploration in
mixed media, clay, mandalas, chanting and drumming, and other artistic
experiences.
This 3-week course takes place over three consecutive Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. The cost is $325 CDN. Taxes and materials are included in the cost.
Participants must bring a bagged lunch. Please register before October 1st. For

November 8th: Handmade Books
Create a unique holiday gift with meaning! Make several handmade books of
various constructions including side-bound books and accordion books.
Personalize them for notebooks, photographs, or your own artwork.
